Always invisible, unless he was being ruthlessly beaten by some drunk stiff, or Moriarty, Gob took solace in seeing that girl from vault 101. She was nice to him even on her first day out of that metal hole, and used to make sure and visit him weekly. Nowadays though, she hardly ever came by. It was slowly ebbing on Gob's mind, tearing at him like sharp imaginary claws, making him more and more irritable by the hour. Gob never spoke his emotions, never let them show, never got the chance to vent, so everything was just wretchedly bottled up inside screaming for release. So on that day when he watched her walk in wrapped in another man's arms, he nearly exploded. Nearly, but he kept it inward.
What was worse: She was crying. And the man was... A ghoul?! She had found another ghoul to be in her life?! Now Gob was angry, truly and immensely angry. He'd feel better about it if he was a regular human, but another... ghoul? The man let her go and went to stand propped up against a wall. She wiped her face with her sleeve and sat on the stool in front of Gob. "hey." she said her voice sounding choked. Gob didn't know or care what was wrong, and he very nearly missed the fact that she had spoken at all; he was too busy glaring at this other ghoul. A muscle visibly flexed in his cheek and before the girl could say anything else Gob asked, "So, who's he?" She looked taken aback by his abrupt question but answered it all the same, "That's Charon. I bought his contract in Underworld just recently, but he's already saved my life a few times." "Hm." Gob replied, only half listening to what she said. He could take him. Sure the other gho- or Charon, was taller- a lot taller, and... armed... But Gob could take him. "Are you alright?" The girl asked. "Am I... Oh, yeah. Di-did you need a drink?" "No, I'm fine, just... well I'm not fine actually." She allowed her gaze to rest on the counter. "Oh, what happened...?" Gob shot a glare at Charon, while Charon replied with an eye-roll as if to say 'Not me stupid.' * The vaultie explained slowly what happened at Project Purity, and when she was done, tears were rolling down her pale cheeks once again, only this time she had a glass of scotch in her hands to accompany them. "I'm sorry." Gob said, feeling awkward, not knowing what to say. She just smile weakly at him in response. * They hung around for a while longer, the vaultie told more stories, and kept crying. Gob let her; he knew what she felt like, needing desperately to vent to someone, so he just let her talk. Charon on the other hand the whole rest of the time kept giving Gob arrogant looks of 'You can't have her' or ‘yeah right’ or ‘What are you looking at?’ Well, that's how he interpreted the looks anyway. Finally the two of them left. Charon let the girl go out the door ahead of him but just before he walked out he shot Gob a final look of 'Yeah, you know what we're going to be doing.' and left. For the first time ever, he knew what it was like to hate someone more than Moriarty. --------------------------------------- Woo! Continuation of the story! Sorry it was all posted here though, but I just felt it explained the picture.  It took a while, and I'm still not done with school stuff yet, but I needed to post something good. Gob all around! It looks just like him! The coloring is amazing, espescially on his arm and face. Those eyes look like they're glowing and they look so damn real. And his expression fits the story perfectly. *flails*
